Pregnant...

So, I just found out I'm pregnant yesterday. I'm due in late September. I'm totally blind and my partner is totally blind and partially deaf.
We talked about this for a while but it was still quite a surprise.
I'd like any suggestions of websites to buy things, lists of stuf to buy, what to do and not to do during pregnancy, anything. I am going to breast feed and cloth diaper if I can but that's about all I know right now. Thanks for the support.

first of all, congradulations! as I can't offer you much on pregnancy, i can give you a little bit of information on every thing afterwords.

first of all, i suggest you find a stroler or a sling that sutes you. think about how you travvle and how much you travvle that's going to be a big issue after the baby is here. I wore noah on me untill he was over a year, I still ware him, even now at 17 months and over 30 pounds but it really hurts my back. look at a sit&strole or the gogo babys contraptions where you can sit carseets on fraims that have weels.
also, you can never have enough onezies and socks, and bibs and blankets! depending on how big your apartment or house is, baby moniters are good. i have some but never used them as noah was strapped to me his first year of life. think about slings or carriers, i used a snuggly for the first 26 pounds then i switched to an ergo carrier which goes up to like 60 or 90 pounds you can also swithc to wairing the baby on your back or side when he or she is older.

just curious, which are you hopeing for? a boy or a girl? and is this your first?? if you already said that, then sorry i must have missed it.

Babycenter.com is good for articles and if you put in your due date you can get a weekly calendar on how your growing baby is doing from conception to the first year of life. If you have a Burlington Coat Factory near you, their Baby Depot section is AWESOMELY cheap. Amazon.com often has good deals on baby care and sometimes items will qualify for FREE supersaver shipping which is totally wonderful for items like strollers, carseats and bassinets. Babyuniverse.com has some good deals on baby stuff. Look uner the Great deals link. The Sit 'N Stroll is a beauty and I found ours on eBay. (They're normally $250 or more), and I got mine for less than $100 and that included shipping. Since you're pregnant, I'd highly recomend looking in to the WIC program which helps you with your nutritional needs during your pregnancy and if you're breastfeeding; they'll also give you food for your child until he/she is five years old. Your child, (notyou if you're on Social Security) can get on AFDC (food stamps and cash aid) when they're born. Let me tell you that is a HUGE help for expensive items like diapers, formula (if breastfeeding doesn't work out), wipes and any other baby-care stuff you might need. If you need any help, private message me and I'll give you my number.

Hey there.
First of all, congratulations on your pregnancy. I'm pregnant as well, and I'm due on July 31, so believe me I'm feeling alot of the pregnancy symptoms and random pregnancy moods that you will either feel or probably are already feeling. If you need someone to talk to in general about how you feel or what you think you should do, feel free to private message me, from one mother to be from another.

hey just had my first child in october of last year. First of all as for the list of things not to eat, caesar salad dressing, artificial sugars (crystal light is ok), no more than a cup of coffee a day, lunch meat (unless you heat it up, contains deadly bacteria called listeria might spelled it wrong), unpastorized cheese (a lot of the soft cheese from mexican food tends to be unpastorized so ask before eating at a mexican restaurant), spicy foods and broccoli (cause heartburn), too much fish with mercury is not good. I suggest a sling for transporting. Oh yeah I am pretty sure you know this, but drink plenty of water. Pm me if you would like my number always willing to talk and lend an ear as well as help anyone in need, especially with me just going through this stuff recently

congratulations!!!!!!! pregnancy is the best time. you will love it.

remember halt. never get to hungry, angry, lonely, or tired, and you will do fine. As my mom said "eat like a cat and run like a dog." in other words get lots of small meals like your friendly feline and do lots of exercise like your cuddly canine.

don't drink crystal lite if you are alergic to aspartame as i am. there are a lot of other powdered drink on the go things which have splenda in them.

I feel good one minute then the next nausiated. I have slight cramps but nothign serious and one day I'm constipated the next diareah. One minute my breasts are sore the next I think they feel okay. I guess this is all normal. They told me today taht the hcg levels are low but I expect this was due to the fact that the test was done only 2 and a half weeks past conception.

Post 9 by jessmonsilva (Taking over the boards, one topic at a time.) on Friday, 29-Jan-2010 10:15:44

man I was lucky for the most part to not get the symptoms too bad for my first pregnancy as well. I got the morning sickness pretty bad for awhile, it finally started going away at about 11 weeks, I still get nausious every now and again, but not nearly as bad as I used to get. Now I'm always freaking hungry, serously I'm always wanting to eat something and it kinda anoys me somewhat, Lol. I never really had swolen breasts and they never hurt me or anything like that, but believe me, once your second trimester comes around you'll start doing alot of the really fun things like hearing the heartbeat and seeing the little baby sonogram pictures, and finding out what it is and all that stuff, so just hang in there, endure the fatigue and nausea a bit more, it'll be worth it.

Post 10 by jessmonsilva (Taking over the boards, one topic at a time.) on Friday, 29-Jan-2010 10:21:25

I almost forgot to tell you if you are really feeling nausious it's good to try and eat something no matter what but if you really honestly feel like you can't hold anything down, have a box of salteen crackers by the side of your bed, and either a ginger ale or sprite, but sip slowly, the gas could be bad on the tummy if you drink too fast, so just eat a few crackers and slowly drink the sprite and little tummy should be ok, at least it helped me anyways, Lol.

Fire Kitty,

Congratulations!

I could not have any children, but I want to wish you the very best throughout this wonderful time.

Take care.

trust me, the morning sickness sucks, but at about 4 months it all goes away for most people, and the resulting baby is awesome...I haven't gotten to the point where I miss being pregnant, but some people say that comes later, oh, and don't worry about the hcg levels all the home pregnancy test I took said negative and when the sickness began interfering with my job and I finally went to the emergency room, I found out I was a whole 8 weeks pregnant, and I had took a pregnancy test the day before...it's so frustrating though I can imagine but it gets better.

I didn't find out I was pregnant 'til I was three months along. *SMILE*
Congratulations on your pregnancy. Time seems to drag on when you're pregnant, and you'll get to the point where you just want the darn thing out already, but it really isn't that long. It's all worth the discomfort and pain and mood swings in the end. Just remember that.

I took 2 tests with both babies and they both came out negative. Then I went to the pregnancy resource center and that's how I found out for sure. I was 8 weeks along with Nathaniel and I was 6 weeks with Hannah. My periods were somewhat regular and that's how I suspected.

Post 22 by NoahsMommy (guide dog girl) on Friday, 05-Feb-2010 3:51:08

I just got a confirmed positive today, I'm excited. I dont' really feel all that bad yet, but hey.

Post 23 by NoahsMommy (guide dog girl) on Wednesday, 07-Jul-2010 7:54:17

I lost the baby on March 2nd, I just had a natural miscarage which took like 2 and a half weeks and was awful but better than surgery. Now, we think I'm pregnant again and will find out next tuesday.

Post 24 by Leafs Fan (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Wednesday, 07-Jul-2010 10:35:43

I am so sorry to hear about the lost baby, and I wish you luck this time around. Congratulations again, pending next Tuesday!

Post 25 by bozmagic (The rottie's your best friend if you want him/her to be, lol.) on Thursday, 08-Jul-2010 19:23:07

Hmmm! Two things: a: how come your due date's in September if you miscarried in March then got pregnant again with a second baby which is due late September? That would mean this baby will be born 3 months premature, surely? especially if you got pregnant soon after the first baby miscarried. Secondly, congrats, but so, so, sorry about the loss of your first! As for me, it could be bloody difficult for me to even conceive, let alone have children later on, due to a somewhat rampant form of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) which means, well, I never know when the next period's going to start or anything, somewhat random but sudden blow-outs, moodswings, things seeming totally out of my control when in fact they're not, total control freak, inability to lose weight even when I have a bloody good go at various GI and low-fat diets, Etc Etc, not good times, but its probably with me for life. Jolly good luck with this pregnancy anyway.

Jen.

Post 26 by NoahsMommy (guide dog girl) on Friday, 09-Jul-2010 6:10:13

actually I never said I was due in deptember, lol. I said I micarried in march and don't know if I'm pregnant yet, but think I am which would put me due mid march.

Post 27 by Damia (I'm oppinionated deal with it.) on Friday, 09-Jul-2010 8:43:52

Jen, I have pcos and am pregnant. have you tried met, and maybe a low carb diet with less flowers and gluton? that seemed to help out with weight loss here. I got pregnant after going off the pill. It wasn't expected but not unwanted either. Kyle and I wanted it when it was ready to happen because we knew it would be up in the air. also if you try conception i think for 18 months and are really serius about it your doctors may try you on some klamad. Never do more than 3 klamed doses though. good luck to you. also if you use lj there is a very helpful and supportive pcos community and one for pcos ttc.

Fire kitty I'm so sorry to hear about your lost little one. I hope you get the news you want next Tuesday. *hugs

PCO here to, and I'm starting to actually lose the weight...We can hope when the weight is down...But, good luck for finding out, and hugs, a miscarriage is rough as hell. I've been there, so, if you need to talk...
